This area is a great spot for fishing, and boating on Black Creek. Even if you don't have a boat, wildlife and waterfowl viewing is great. Although there are no maintained trails, there are several open spaces where oak trees overhang the creek. You can sit among the cattails, wildflowers and dogwood shrubs and watch wildlife and waterfowl on the creek. At one spot along the bank you can see about a half mile upstream. Canoeists have reported spotting beaver, river otters, painted turtles and birds such as kingfishers, egrets, great blue herons, Canadan geese and other waterfowl. During migration look for snow geese and other birds not usually found in this area.
